International Audio Arts Festival
April 4th-7th 2019
Laurent studied electronics in the early 80's and his first job was setting up electronic equipments for hotels, such as TV satellites, and PA 's.
He quickly left the industrial world, and became involved in the sound world in the mid 80s.
He set up local radio stations and started cutting tape with razor blades and adhesive tapes.
Through the 90s he worked in recording studios and experienced the cutting edge (again;)) of digital audio - working with the first edition of Pro Tools- at a time when a huge 1 GB Hard drive costed about 2000 €, and 16Mb RAM on a huge 40 Mhz ultra-fast computer was considered incredible !
In the late 90s he lived in Kilfinane for few years, and worked at the Irish World Music Centre at the University of Limerick. There he worked as a sound engineer for recordings and recorded concerts for Lyric FM.
He since returned to France where he works as a sound engineer - but more involved in teaching sound for film makers and documentaries.
