Dr Cathy FitzGerald is an award-winning writer and radio producer, and founder of White Stiletto Productions. She made her first documentary – The Magic Carpet Flight Manual – in 2010, and has since won Prix Marulic, Third Coast Festival and Radio Academy Production awards for BBC programmes on topics including angry Vietnamese ghosts, yellow cab drivers, and a museum of broken hearts.


When not making documentaries, she’s the caretaker of Radio 4’s creative writing series, Invisible College, and creates websites, audio tours and apps for many of the UK’s major cultural institutions including The National Gallery, Tate Modern, the V&A and Historic Scotland. She’s conducted more than 500 hours of oral history interviews with military veterans for the Imperial War Museum’s Sound Archive.


She has a DPhil in the work of Charles Dickens and is currently working on Burn Slush!, a feature about the reindeer grand prix.
